Encyclopedia Indonesia – Daftar Ketua MPR RI. Dalam system pemerintahan di Indonesia, dikenal istilah Majelis Perwakilan Rakyat (MPR). Pimpinan Majelis Perwakilan Rakyat adalah orang yang memimpin Majelis Perwakilan Rakyat tersebut. Sejak terbentuknya lembaga kenegaraan yang disebut MPR maupun DPR pada Pemilu (Pemilihan Umum) tahun 1977, mulai dikenal seorang ketua dan beberapa wakil ketua. Kelembagaan MPR yang semula lembaga tertinggi negara dengan seorang ketua yang juga sebagai ketua DPR. Tetapi, semenjak pemilu 1999, lembaga MPR dipimpin oleh seorang ketua dan DPR juga dipimpin oleh seorang ketua dengan didampingi oleh beberapa wakil ketua. 1. Chaerul Saleh (1916-1967), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Sementara Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1960 sampai dengan 1966. Saat itu berbentuk MPRS Chaerul Saleh Datuk Paduko Rajo atau lebih dikenal dengan nama Chaerul Saleh (lahir di Sawahlunto, Sumatera Barat, 13 September 1916 – wafat di Jakarta, 8 Februari 1967 pada umur 50 tahun. 2. Abdul Haris Nasution atau A.H. Nasution yang akrab dipanggil Pak Nas (1918-2000), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1966 sampai dengan 1972, Berasal dari Non Partai Politik / Non Parpol atau lebih tepatnya dari Militer (TNI Angkatan Darat). Adam Malik (1917-1984) menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1977 sampai dengan 1978. Adam Malik berasal dari Partai Golkar. Pada tahun 1978, Adam Malik terpilih sebagai Wakil Presiden Republik Indonesia dan diharuskan melepas jabatan Ketua MPR. 5. Daryatmo (1925-1993), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1978 sampai dengan 1982. Daryantmo berasal dari Partai Golkar. Daryanmo menggantikan posisi Adam Malik yang terpilih sebagai Wakil Presiden. 6. Amir Machmud (1923-1995), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1982 sampai dengan 1987. Berasal dari Partai Golkar. 7. Kharis Suhud (1925-2012), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1987 sampai dengan 1992, dari Partai Golkar. 8. Wahono (1925-2004), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1992 sampai dengan 1997, Partai Golkar. 9. Harmoko (1939- ), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1997 sampai dengan 1999, Partai Golkar. 10. Amien Rais (1944- ), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1999 sampai dengan 2004, dari Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN). Ketua Lembaga Tertinggi Negara terakhir, jabatan dipisahkan dengan ketua DPR. 11. Hidayat Nur Wahid (1960- ), menjabat sebagai Ketua MPR Republik Indonesia pada tahun 2004 sampai dengan 2009, dari Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS). 12.
